Tete, Mozambique

THE AREA

The hunting concession is situated in Tete, a province of Mozambique, and covers an area of a little under a million acres in extent.

On the map of Southern Africa, the concession forms the front lower “jaw” of the “dogs head” that thrusts into Zimbabwe and Zambia. Its northern border is traced by 160km of Lake Cahora Bassa, the west and south are bounded by the Zimbabwean border, and the eastern limit is marked by the Musengezi River.

The lake adds a whole new dimension for clients, offering spectacular angling and photographic opportunities as well as producing excellent crocodile and hippo trophies.

PRIVATE AIR CHARTER

Safaris De Moçambique offer an air charter service into the area, with flights originating from either Johannesburg in South Africa, or Tete in Mozambique. Guests can also charter into Kanyemba Zimbabwe, a short and pleasant drive over the border from our main camp. Both single and twin engine aircraft can be chartered. Commercial airline service into Tete/Harare from Johannesburg is available daily on either Airlink or LAM Mozambique Airlines.

TRAVEL INFO

Malaria is prevalent in the area, and it is strongly advised that precautions are taken by all visitors. Please consult your doctor before departure.

Visas are required for Mozambique and these can be obtained through the Mozambique Embassy in the visitor's country of residence. Safaris De Mocambique cannot apply for visas on behalf of our clients; this MUST be done by the individual. Safaris De Mocambique will supply an information sheet to each client with requests for all client information to be completed and returned in a minimum of 45 days prior to commencement of the safari. On this sheet will be rifle information, travel information and visa requirements needed per client.

Please note that each person travelling to Mozambique will require a visa (including non hunters, family members and observers). Safaris De Mocambique will apply for rifle and hunting permits on behalf of the client once all relevant information has been submitted to us by the client (as per client information sheet).
