Dear Simon,
Having recently completed a safari with your company, Safaris De Mocambique, I feel compelled to express my admiration of the extraordinary concession you have created. I have hunted many
none can compare in overall quality to yours. Your husbandry of the wildlife and populace is extraordinary. I saw the results multiple times daily, all positive. It’s a great pleasure to me to see such unwavering dedication and extraordinary efforts routinely exhibited by you and your staff. The wildlife is abundant because you have established and maintained strategically placed wells. I saw first-hand the enormous amount of work and capital this involves. I’ve seen work of this magnitude performed on privately
owned property, never on leased land. Few operators have the fortitude and commitment to devote their personal resources to the utmost on land they do not own. You deserve the highest accolades for your commitment and execution. Along with your staff, I visited several villages on numerous occasions. We invariably received a most joyful greeting from all, children to elders. I saw the wells you’ve created, schools and clinics you’ve built, and food you’ve provided. I also saw your professional hunters help the game scouts with any animals that were causing problems for the villagers. The people love you for clear and obvious reasons. The game scouts and your professional hunters work together to stop poaching. I see your unwavering resolve to maintain a strong antipoaching initiative and program. Communication between your field operatives and support personnel led to quick and effective intervention when an illegal activity was identified. Simon, the work you have done has yielded priceless benefits for the residents of your concession, both human and animal. I’ve gotten to know you quite well and I know you will never lessen your efforts…rather you will maintain your achievements and build upon them consistent with your strength of character, work ethic, and a mindset that drives you to do what is right regardless of the situation or cost. I admire and commend you.
Best of luck for the months ahead. I hope to be back hunting with you soon. Please give my best to your lovely wife Kate and your brilliant son Justin.
With My Most Sincere Regards,
Steve

Simon’s operation is hands-down one of the finest in Africa (if not the best). The game, PHs, accommodations and food are world-class. If you are after Buffalo, it is the real thing; dangerous and e
f the herds and somewhat limited hunting. I try to make it an annual trip. If you can work it in your schedule, you need to go, it is a spectacular experience.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to be able to hunt in Botswana, South Africa and Mozambique. This included, along w/ my son, the great pleasure of twice hunting with Simon and SdM in their curre
in 2018. While we had a good hunt with Simon in 2014, the difference in his hunting block between 2014 and 2018 was dramatic, as more time had passed for Simon’s ongoing and relentless efforts to improve the area to take effect, and it was readily apparent when we returned in 2018 that such efforts were doing exactly what they were designed to do.
Most notable, all of the game populations were up, and the evidence and signs of poaching were way down. Simon’s combination of:
• aggressive anti-poaching efforts
• development of inland water resources via drilling water wells and equipping them w/ electric pumps
• sensible and conservative game harvesting, with a strong focus on taking mature animals only
• cooperation with, and support of, the local villages
• road maintenance and construction with heavy equipment brought into the block
was not only working, it was working extremely well. Clearly, the longer Simon hunts this block, the better its game populations are going to be, thanks solely to his dedicated efforts to make sure that is exactly what happens.
